What

Citrus Stride is an annual event hosted by California’s citrus growers in partnership with community food banks to raise awareness about food insecurity.  For every mile logged, we pledge to donate 1,000 pounds to community food banks.

Due to COVID-19, this year’s Citrus Stride will be held virtually.  Grab a mask and commit to moving one mile. Walk, run, bike, skateboard, swim, hike, you choose. Go one mile and help us reach our goal of donating 500,000 pounds of citrus to people who need it!

When & Where

Monday, October 5 –  Sunday, October 11, 2020

Anywhere!

Why

California is the world’s fifth largest economy and home to the most bountiful agricultural production in the world. Yet our communities are some of the hungriest. Before the pandemic, an estimated 1 in 8 Californians didn’t know where their next meal would come from, now nearly 1 in 4 Californians report being food insecure – that is about 10 million people.

Since now more than ever our communities are struggling with hunger, Citrus growers have partnered with Farm to Family to deliver millions of pounds of citrus to community food banks each year.

Help us spread the word about food insecurity by participating in the #VirtualCitrusStide. Together we can VIRTUALLY eliminate hunger!  To learn more about food insecurity, go to http://www.cafoodbanks.org/.
